There is always a desire for great food. But admittedly, it’s always closer to the weekend when the need to unwind and dine seems to find us.
Via Café and Lounge, nestled in the corner of Parliament Street and Prince George Wharf, just might be the place.
And besides the tantalizing meals, entertainment offerings are just as appealing. In fact, there are a number of events that take place between Thursday and Saturday. “What we try to do is to create something exciting for our guest,” says General Manager Ricardo Williams. “Its like a treat for them for coming out and visiting us.”
On Thursday nights, Via comes alive with salsa lessons. It’s the venue where salsa instructor Inderia Francis offers free lessons. It’s also the place where her students get to sharpen their skills on the dance floor.
Friday nights are not to be outdone, as customers get to enjoy a signature networking Happy Hour.
Saturdays offer something uniquely Bahamian, as patrons get to enjoy the sounds of Ira Storr and the Spank Band. It also doubles as ‘ladies night’.
“The key is just to create [an environment] that garners the best reaction – [the one] where you can see that guests [are] really enjoying themselves,” Williams said. “[And as you can see from our offerings], we try to create unique events that focus on a little something for everybody.”
The ultimate objective for Via on any night, Williams says, is for customers to walk away excited about their next visit, as every encounter promises good food, drinks, and service.
But that’s not all. Via Café’s focus is always to stay current with trends in the food and beverage arena. The next new buzz on the wharf will soon be Via’s sushi offerings, which Williams says are soon to come.
Without giving too much away, Williams said the sushi bar will offer exciting dishes and it will have a sleek look. He has made a promise that the sushi bar will definitely be the spot where any and everybody would want to be.
